Arrange transport of goods to and from Ukraine

Main Useful Means of Transport
Ukraine’s strategic geographical position makes it an ideal destination for transit of goods and passengers between Europe, Asia and Middle East. Through the territory of Ukraine there are several international transport corridors, reaching a total length of over 5 thousand km. Ukraine’s transportation infrastructure is made of 163 thousand km of roads (where 30% is classified as roads of state importance), 21.7 thousand km of railways, 62 airports (including international, military, public airports), 13 (not including the Crimea) seaports.

As per data from the Ministry of Infrastructure, more than 50% of the roads in Ukraine are in a poor state.
By traffic volumes, Ukraine’s railway ranks among the first in Europe and Asia, with the workload of Ukrainian railways being 3-5 times that of other European countries.
Major airports are: Kyiv Boryspil Airport, Dnipropetrovsk Airport, Kharkiv Airport, Lviv Airport, Donetsk Airport, Odessa Airport, and Simferopol Airport.
Out of the 13 ports of the country, 5 are deep-water ports: the Pivdennyi Port, the ports in Chornomorsk, Odesa, Mykolaiv. About 60% of handled freight comes through the three largest of them, i.e. Odesa, Illichivsk and PivdennyiPorts. All Ukrainian ports are at the moment state-owned enterprises.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the restrictions that followed, freight transport is estimated to have decreased consistently in the first half of 2020: according to the State Statistics Service, transport enterprises of Ukraine transported 382.2 million tons of cargo in January-August 2020, which is 13.4% less compared to the same period in 2019. 196.7 million tons of cargo were transported by rail in domestic traffic and for export, which is 5.3% less than in January-August 2019. 119.4 million tons (-23.5%) were transported by road, 3.3 million tons (-12.4%) by water, 62.7 million tons (-15%) by pipeline, 0.1 million tons by air (-10.7%).
