Cost of Labour

Minimum Wage
The national minimum wage in Hungary is HUF 322,800 (approx. EUR 847) gross per month (effective 1 January 2026), set by the Government of Hungary via decree under national labour law.
Average Wage
In December 2025, average gross earnings were at HUF 789,200 (approx. EUR 2,095).
Social Contributions
Social Security Contributions Paid By Employers: 13%
Social Security Contributions Paid By Employees: 18.5% (10% pension contribution and 8.5% health care and labour force contribution) without cap. An additional 6.5% health tax is payable on interest income and 14% health tax on capital gains.
